How Can I Help
Become an M2IP Supporter
The Monterey Marine Innovation Program is a no-fee public service organization which depends on its volunteers to achieve its goal of empowering innovative local researchers to commercialize their research. As such, we welcome help with all aspects of our mission.
These include:
Communication: Informally spreading the word to friends and colleagues about the M2IP resource. Sending M2IP information on events of interest which we can share with the community. Helping to update the M2IP/Community event calendar.
Education: Speakers with significant relevant experience to join panels in our three major programs in the Patent/IP, Commercial Assessment, and Licensing topic areas. Help expand our offerings beyond those topics.
Share your commercial experience in Marine Science: We plan to start via presentations or panel discussion, and offer some mentoring opportunities if there is time/interest in doing this.
Share Your Expertise
Become a Mentor
Volunteers are needed to assist/mentor researchers who may have come up with something both patentable and having commercial potential. We are looking for mentors who have significant personal experience in commercializing inventions/technology from research or other sources, and are interested in giving back to the Community. Specific Marine Science experience is helpful, but not essential.
